While the government and industry delay, distract and engage in false solutions around plastic waste, people are standing up to declare a waste emergency.

In the UK we bear a large share of responsibility for worldwide waste, with a huge polymers industry and the second highest plastics consumption per capita in the world. Plastics and chemicals are entering our soils, our waterways and our bodies. We need action on an emergency footing.

We say: It's time to end this hypocrisy. Hopefully we can stop not only their ecocidal festive truck tour, but eventually consign this whole sorry addiction to plastic to the wastebin of history.
